MLB Note - New York Mets deGrom, Jacob

Sep 25, 2017 - 8:54 AM RHP Jacob deGrom reached a milestone Sunday afternoon, when he took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and no walks while striking out 11 over six innings as the Mets fell to the Washington Nationals, 3-2. With the six innings pitched, deGrom exceeded the 200-inning mark for the first time in his four big league seasons. His 201 1/3 innings are the most by a Mets pitcher since RHP Bartolo Colon threw 202 1/3 innings in 2014. In addition, the double-digit strikeout game was the 11th of the season for deGrom, which ties him with former RHP Dwight Gooden for fourth place on the franchise's all-time single season list. DeGrom is expected to make his final start of the season during the three-game series against the Phillies that begins Friday night. He is 15-10 with a 3.53 ERA and 239 strikeouts in a career-high 31 starts this year.
