MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Gossett, Daniel
Oct 1, 2017 - 7:38 AM RHP Daniel Gossett (4-11) took the loss in the A's 8-4 loss to Texas on Saturday. He gave up four runs -- all in the second -- on five hits and a walk over 12/3 innings. Gossett recorded two outs after Joey Gallo's two-run home run in the second, but he couldn't get the third, and wound up throwing 30 pitches in the inning before leaving. Gossett, 24, is working on his second stint with the club after being recalled from Triple-A Nashville. Since then he is 1-5 with a 7.47 ERA. He said he believes his stuff "can play" at this level. "I have to trust myself to pitch," Gossett said. "I know I'm a better pitcher than I've been showing lately. I think I let mental things get in the way. It's something to learn from. You've got to work on that as much as the physical stuff."No one has shouted yet.
