MLB Note - St. Louis Cardinals Martinez, Carlos

Oct 1, 2017 - 7:38 AM RHP Carlos Martinez was pulled from his scheduled start Sunday after Saturday's win as the Cardinals decided to let him rest until spring training. In his first year as the team's unofficial ace of the staff, Martinez finished 12-11 with a 3.64 ERA and set career highs for innings (205) and strikeouts (217). He also threw two shutouts and averaged almost 6 1/3 innings per start, a career high as well.
