MLB Note - Texas Rangers Cashner, Andrew
Oct 1, 2017 - 7:39 AM RHP Andrew Cashner (11-11) earned the victory in Texas' 8-4 win over Oakland on Saturday. In his last start of the season -- and as a pending free agent perhaps his last with Texas -- Cashner threw six innings, giving up two runs -- both in the sixth -- on five hits and two walks while striking out two. He finished the season with a 3.40 ERA, the second-lowest qualifying figure by a Rangers pitcher in the past four seasons. "I think it's been a great year for me," Cashner said. "I don't know, it's kind of overwhelming to soak it all in. I think I was consistent every day as a teammate, as a player, went out there and giving it all I had every day."No one has shouted yet.
