MLB Note - Cincinnati Reds Votto, Joey
Oct 2, 2017 - 5:51 AM 1B Joey Votto's last-ditch bid for a National League batting title fell short, but he still went 2-for-4 to close with a .320 average for the season. Rockies first baseman Charlie Blackmon went 1-for-2 against the Dodgers to unofficially close at .331. Votto made his 162nd start of the season, just one of two big league players to start every game this season. He reached base 321 times and reached safely in his final 32 games and in 61 of his last 62 overall. No one has shouted yet.
