MLB Note - Toronto Blue Jays Donaldson, Josh
Oct 2, 2017 - 5:51 AM 3B Josh Donaldson, whose name was referenced in recent trade rumors, did not play. He finished his third season with Toronto batting .270 with 33 homers and 78 RBIs in 113 games. Donaldson finished the year by hitting .315 (29-for-92) with 10 homers and 20 RBIs in his last 23 games. Before Sunday's game, Donaldson addressed those rumors and his contract, which runs through the end of 2018 and said he approached the front office with a desire to be part of the team on a long-term basis. Asked if he hopes the front office approaches his agent he told reporters: "I feel like I've proven what I need to prove on the field. I don't hope or wish for anything. I've made it known to our front office that I enjoy a Toronto Blue Jays. That I enjoy my time here. If it's a possibility, I would definitely enjoy being a Blue Jay for a long time. I'm not going to sit here and try to force their hand and they're not going to sit here and force mine."No one has shouted yet.
