MLB Note - Colorado Rockies Gray, Jon
Oct 5, 2017 - 7:03 AM RHP Jon Gray gave up four runs and seven hits while getting only four outs, taking the loss. Gary had not given up as many as four runs in any of his previous 12 starts, dating to an 18-4 victory over San Diego on July 18 when he gave up four. "It was tough, tough emotionally," Gray said. "I really want to be good for the guys behind me. It is a really big situation, really a big game. It was costly. I know the environment is different but you can't change the way I pitch. I can't overthrow like that. I got to stay loose and execute pitches. I got off balance a little bit today. It sucks when it happens that fast. It was too late and there is nothing you can do about it." Gray was 2-1 against the Diamondbacks in the regular season, and his only two 10-strikeout games of the season were at Chase Field. No one has shouted yet.
