MLB Note - New York Yankees Tanaka, Masahiro

Oct 19, 2017 - 9:37 AM RHP Masahiro Tanaka allowed three hits, struck out eight and recorded nine ground-ball outs during seven scoreless innings in Game 5 of the AL Championship Series against Houston on Wednesday. Tanaka owns a 0.90 ERA this postseason, which is the second lowest of any Yankee with at least 19 innings. RHP Waite Hoyt holds the record by pitching 27 scoreless innings in 1921 when the Yankees won their first pennant. Tanaka also owns a 22-inning scoreless streak at Yankee Stadium and is 7-1 with an 0.96 ERA in his last eight starts at home.
