Indians hire Willis as pitching coach
Oct 26, 2017 - 4:43 PM Carl Willis has been hired for his second stint as the Cleveland Indians' pitching coach, the team announced Thursday.Willis, who served as Cleveland's pitching coach from 2003-09, worked with the Seattle Mariners (2010-13) and joined the Indians as a special assistant in 2014 before spending the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox.
The 56-year-old will replace Mickey Calloway, who left to manage the New York Mets.
Willis enjoyed a nine-year major league pitching career, compiling a record of 22-16 with a 4.25 ERA and 13 saves over 267 appearances with the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins.
