Gallardo reportedly rejoining Brewers

Dec 17, 2017 - 8:11 AM Right-hander Yovani Gallardo agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

The 31-year-old Gallardo enjoyed the best years of his career with the Brewers by going 89-64 with a 3.69 ERA between 2007-14, but he is now looking to rediscover his form after back-to-back poor seasons.

Gallardo was 5-10 with a 5.72 ERA in 28 appearances (22 starts) with the Seattle Mariners last season, and the club declined to pick up his $13 million option for 2018. He went 6-8 with a 5.42 ERA in 23 starts for the Baltimore Orioles in 2016.

Gallardo won 12 or more games in five consecutive seasons with the Brewers. He won a career-high 17 games in 2011 and followed up with 16 in 2012.

He was an All-Star in 2010 when he went 14-7 with a 3.84 ERA.

Gallardo pitched for the Texas Rangers in 2015 and went 13-11 with a 3.42 ERA. Overall, he is 113-93 with a 3.93 ERA in 298 appearances (289 starts).
