Top MLB Betting Odds & Picks for Saturday, June 25 (2022)

Jun 25, 2022 - 1:01 PM

With a profitable day yesterday, we’ll look to keep that momentum going into today’s picks.

I’ve got three more bets that I’m going to look at for June 25.

(Odds courtesy DraftKings)

CTA MLB Bet MGM

Oakland Athletics vs. Kansas City Royals

We’ll rarely see the Kansas City Royals as favorites. In today’s game, the Royals are -175 favorites, at home, against the Oakland Athletics.

That’s pretty telling.

The Athletics will pitch rookie left-hander Jared Koenig, who has a 7.71 xFIP in the last 30 days. Koenig has walked more batters in that same time frame than he’s struck out.

Today, he’ll take on a Royals lineup that should have eight righties in the lineup, including four bats that have heated up lately against lefties in the middle of the order. Those bats include Bobby Witt Jr., Hunter Dozier, Carlos Santana, and Michael A. Taylor, who have all hit an above-average ISO in the last 30 days against lefties.

Meanwhile, Brad Keller will take the mound for the Royals. He has a 4.81 xFIP and isn’t known for high strikeouts. But he’s still inducing 47.6% of ground balls when balls are hit in play. Plus, the Athletics are hitting just a .118 ISO and wOBA of .269 against righties in the last 30 days with 46.7% of ground balls of their own with the projected lineup against righties.

I’ll take the Royals on the run line.

Bet: Royals -1.5 (+120 at DraftKings

Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants

The Reds will send out left-handed pitcher Mike Minor for today’s game. Minor is getting closer to retirement after each start. In the last 30 days, Minor has had a 5.88 xFIP over the previous 30 days. That’s just not going to cut it in this league.

He’s induced a low amount of ground balls and continues to give up a high amount of line drives while getting rocked by righties.

Righties have a .404 wOBA and ISO of .333 in the last 30 days in Minor’s last 67 plate appearances against them. Meanwhile, the Giants figure to have at least six righties in the lineup to take on Minor. As a projected lineup, the Giants have also averaged a .331 wOBA against lefties in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, Logan Webb will get the call for the Giants. He’s been terrific analytically with a 2.84 xFIP in the last 30 days. He’s earned 28% of strikeouts while inducing 52.4% of ground balls when balls are put in play. When they’re getting primarily strikeouts and ground balls, things will go in your favor.

Let’s take the Giants on the run line as well.

Bet: Giants -1.5 (-115 at DraftKings)

Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Angels

It’s always hard for me to take an under in Angels games. The Angels have Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout in the lineup but still can’t score enough runs to win most games.

It’s not because of those two bats, however. It’s because six batters in the Angels’ projected lineup have an ISO of .118 or worse, and five batters have a wOBA of .251 or worse against righties in the last 30 days.

Tonight, the Angels will take on Logan Gilbert, who is starting to rise as one of the best young pitchers in the game. If he can get by Ohtani, Trout, and Jared Walsh, he’ll keep the Angels in check.

Meanwhile, Patrick Sandoval will take the mound for the Angels. He’s a left-handed pitcher who will take on a Mariners lineup with a .118 ISO and wOBA of .284 against lefties in the last 30 days.

Sandoval has recently earned 22.6% of strikeouts in the last 30 days and has limited power from both sides of the plate. Take the under in this game.

Bet: Under 8 (-105 at DraftKings)
