While the Padres made the big moves at the trade deadline, it doesn’t seem like they’ll be able to catch up to the Dodgers in the division as LAD will look to sweep on Sunday Night Baseball.

The Dodgers will send up Tyler Anderson, and the veteran is having a breakthrough season in his first year with the club. His 12 wins are a career-high, and his 2.89 ERA is over a point and half better than his career mark (4.35).

He has two starts against the Padres this year, and the most recent start was the better one going six innings, allowing just one earned in the win.

Yu Darvish has been so much better in his second season with the Padres, as he’s already surpassed the eight wins he had last year. In his most recent start against the Dodgers, he allowed five earned back, including three home runs in the first innings at Dodger Stadium.

He always starts slowly with a 6.20 ERA in the first innings, but it quickly diminishes as the game goes on and as the game moves along.

The Padres couldn’t overcome the last deficit that Darvish put them in against the Dodgers, and we should expect the same tonight.
