Joe Musgrove Over 5.5 Strikeouts -120
San Diego Padres vs. Miami Marlins

Joe Musgrove has established himself as one of the best right-handers in baseball. He enters with a sparkling 2.91 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. However, I’m eying his strikeout total as tonight he faces a Miami lineup with the eighth-highest strikeout rate in the majors. In addition, this total seems to be a tad too low for Musgrove in general. He’s gone over this total in 70 percent of his starts, which gives us -233 implied odds that he will go over again.

Josiah Gray Under 6.5 Strikeouts -132
Chicago Cubs vs. Washington Nationals

Josiah Gray has developed a ton during this season, and his stuff offers great strikeout potential tonight against the Cubs, who have the tenth highest strikeout rate in the league. The issue is the total has been a tough number for Gray to get over this year. In fact, he’s gone under this total in 66.7 percent of his starts this season, which gives us -200 implied odds that he’ll go under again.

Johnny Cueto Under 18.5 Out Recorded -125
Houston Astros vs. Chicago White Sox

Johnny Cueto has had a renaissance with the White Sox this season as he enters with a 2.91 ERA through 15 starts. However, a closer look reveals that he is due for some serious regression. Cueto has not missed many bats this season and gives up his fair share of hard contact. His xERA of 4.05 and FIP of 3.92 are very telling. Tonight’s matchup against Houston could be the beginning of his regression. It also helps that Cueto has only gone past this total in five starts this season.

Jose Urquidy Under 6.5 Hits Allowed -140
Houston Astros vs. Chicago White Sox

This line is way too high even for a White Sox offense that is top ten in average and BABIP against righties. Urquidy has gone under this total in 76.2 percent of his starts, which gives us a staggering -320 implied odds. Take advantage of the massive value on this line.

Julio Urias Under 4.5 Hits Allowed -120
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Julio Urias has been tremendous over the past few months, and he’s begun August with a 0.69 ERA and allowed 12 hits in 13 innings of work. His first two matchups this month were against clubs that hit lefties well. Tonight he’ll face a Brewers squad that has not hit lefties much despite having the guys to do so. Milwaukee is 29th in batting average and 25th in BABIP off left-handers this season. Urias is clearly not your average lefty, as he’s held his opposition under this total in 59 percent of his starts. That rate gives us -144 odds that the Brewers will go under yet again.
