New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

  • Leg 1: Blue Jays ML (-116)
  • Leg 2: Over 7.5 (-102)
  • Leg 3: Luis Severino over 4.5 strikeouts (-108)

With a win tonight, the Yankees would clinch the American League East. The injury bug again caught Luis Severino, and he has now been on the IL every season since 2019. Severino’s only successful start against the Blue Jays was back in April when their offense and the team got off to a slow start.

Kevin Gausman is starting to trend in the wrong direction as he comes in with a 4.50 ERA in his last six starts. The team is luckily 4-2 in those starts due to a good amount of run support, including 11 and seven runs.

This game is also crucial for Toronto as they’re still in a very tight Wild Card race. I’m all in on an offensive shootout with the Jays getting the home win.

Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals

  • Leg 1: Braves -1.5 (-184)
  • Leg 2: Over 9 (-120)
  • Leg 3: Matt Olson to record 2+ total bases(-122)
  • Leg 4: Corey Abbott over 3.5 strikeouts (-134)

The Braves have continued to hang on in the National League East and have a chance to keep up with the Mets against the last-place Nationals.

Rookie Bryce Elder has been getting longer starts recently, and he’s had the benefit of dropping his ERA from 5.48 to 3.38 thanks to facing the Marlins and Nationals. He’s been effective in the two starts against Washington this season, going 11 innings and allowing just four earned.

The Nats will send a rookie of their own in Cory Abbott. They’ve been using him in spot starts, including last week against the Braves, where he allowed four earned in four innings. We probably won’t see him very long again, and Washington will come with a bullpen that has a 4.02 ERA.

The Braves should confidently get the win and continue to hold hope in this race.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox

  • Leg 1: Jordan Lyles over 3.5 strikeouts (-150)
  • Leg 2: Over 9.5 (-118)
  • Leg 3: Tommy Pham to record 2+ total bases (+105)

The Orioles have an outside shot of making it into the playoffs via the Wild Card as they sit just four games out.

Jordan Lyles can have outings where he looks excellent. His breaking balls have hitters swinging out of their shoes, but then there are times when everything hangs over the plate, and he gets lit up like fireworks. That happened in his recent start against Boston, where he gave up a brutal eight earned in a loss.

For the young Connor Seabold, he would love to grab his first major league win. He hasn’t had much success by allowing four or more earned in three of four starts this season.

With this pitching matchup, the over looks great in what should be an offensive showdown.
