MLB Same Game Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/28)

We came extremely close to hitting a same-game parlay last night. However, a leg in each parlay just didn’t go our way. We’ll look to get back on track with tonight’s slate of games.

The goal is always to hit one of three same-game parlays per day. If you can do that, you’ll be profitable.

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

• Leg 1: Aaron Judge 2+ Total Bases (-105)
• Leg 2: Anthony Rizzo 2+ Total Bases (+110)
• Leg 3: Gleybar Torres 2+ Total Bases (+120)

We’ve been waiting a week for Aaron Judge’s 61st home run. He’s got a great opportunity going up against Mitch White of the Blue Jays.

White has had a 5.24 xFIP over the last 30 days. He’s rarely earning strikeouts and has a BABIP of .373 over the previous month. Against his last 44 righties, White has allowed a .413 wOBA and ISO of .195. Lefties even have a .326 wOBA and ISO of .172 against White over his last 33 plate appearances against them.

Judge is currently hitting a .526 ISO with a wOBA of .595 in the last 30 days against righties. Meanwhile, Anthony Rizzo, a lefty, has a .324 ISO and wOBA of .362 against righties since he returned from his back injury. Lastly, Gleybar Torres is hitting a .247 ISO with a wOBA of .385 in the three-spot for the Yankees against righties.

Judge, Rizzo, and Torres have become the significant contributors in the Yankees lineup against righties. That won’t change against an inconsistent Mitch White.

Parlay Odds: +818 via FanDuel

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Houston Astros

• Leg 1: Justin Verlander Over 6.5 K’s (-122)
• Leg 2: Zac Gallen Over 5.5 K’s (-122)
• Leg 3: Under 6.5 (-110)

The best pitching matchup is in Houston tonight. Zac Gallen of the Diamondbacks will take on Justin Verlander of the Astros. Verlander will likely win the AL Cy Young, while Zac Gallen will be in the mix for the NL Cy Young.

Verlander is coming into this game with a 3.37 xFIP over the last 30 days. He’s also struck out 33.3% of batters since returning from the injured list. In the projected lineup for Arizona, Verlander will face eight batters who have struck out at least 19.4% of the time against righties.

Meanwhile, Gallen has struck out 35.9% of batters over the last 30 days and is holding an xFIP of 2.92 in that same time frame. The Astros have struck out way fewer times than the Diamondbacks but still strike out 18.4% as a team. With Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena potentially out due to injury, Gallen should see more bench players in this game and capitalize.

With these two gems on the mound, I have this game going under 6.5 as well.

Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels

• Leg 1: Mike Trout 2+ Total Bases (-105)
• Leg 2: Shohei Ohtani 2+Total Bases (-120)
• Leg 3: Taylor Ward 2+ Total Bases  (+115)

I tried this stack yesterday. Ohtani and Ward came through, but Mike Trout struck out three times and ruined the parlay.

Tonight, they’ll face Adrian Martinez of the Oakland Athletics. Martinez has a 4.71 xFIP over the last 30 days while allowing a .368 BABIP. Martinez has also allowed 25.4% of line drives in the previous 30 days when balls are batted into play.

Lefties have a .416 wOBA and ISO of .412 in the last 30 days. Meanwhile, righties are also hitting a .426 wOBA and ISO of .213 against Martinez.

Trout, Ohtani, and Ward have been the only consistent hitters in the lineup for the Angels in the last 30 days. Trout has an ISO of .324 with a wOBA of .413. Meanwhile, Ohtani is hitting a .257 ISO and wOBA of .366, while Ward is also hitting a .215 ISO and wOBA of .376.
