Mar 28, 2009 - 2:01 AM LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida (Ticker) -- Justin Verlander tossed seven dominant innings in the Detroit Tigers' 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Friday.

Verlander, who is scheduled to be the Tigers' Opening Day starter, allowed two hits. The righthander struck out three and walked one. Matt Treanor homered in support of Verlander.

Tom Glavine tossed four scoreless innings for the Braves.

At Jupiter, Florida: Luke Scott homered twice and drove in three runs and Ty Wigginton plated four as the Baltimore Orioles posted a 9-7 victory over the Florida Marlins.

Hanley Ramirez homered and drove in a pair of runs for Florida.

At Kissimmee, Florida: Miguel Tejada homered and drove in a pair of runs, leading the Houston Astros to a 6-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Matt Stairs and Jayson Werth homered for Philadelphia.

At Lee County, Florida: Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel and Michael Cuddyer each homered in the Minnesota Twins' 16-2 rout of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Carl Crawford homered for Tampa Bay.

At Fort Myers, Florida: Chip Ambres belted a three-run homer off Marco Gonzalez in the bottom of the 10th inning, giving the Boston Red Sox an 11-8 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Jason Varitek also homered, Kevin Youkilis collected two RBI and Dustin Pedroia recorded two hits and scored three runs for Boston. David Freese went 3-for-4 with a blast and two RBI for the Cardinals.

At Port St. Lucie, Florida: Johan Santana allowed one run and four hits while striking out six in seven innings to lead the New York Mets to a 4-1 victory over the Washington Nationals.

Carlos Delgado scored a pair of runs and Daniel Murphy had three hits and two RBI for the Mets.

At Bradenton, Florida: Roy Halladay allowed one run in seven strong innings and prospects Brad Emaus and Sean Shoffit homered to lead the Toronto Blue Jays past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1.

At Tampa, Florida: CC Sabathia allowed one run and struck out seven in 7 2/3 innings and Mark Teixeira had two hits as the New York Yankees topped the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1.

Derek Jeter doubled, drove in a run and scored a run for the Yankees.
