Mar 28, 2009 - 8:36 PM FORT MYERS, Florida (Ticker) -- Jason Bay, David Ortiz and Rocco Baldelli all homered off Francisco Liriano during a seven-run third inning as the Boston Red Sox pounded the Minnesota Twins, 9-4.

Boston starter Brad Penny settled down after spotting the Twins a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, allowing two runs and four hits over four frames.

At Lake Buena Vista, Florida - Mark Teixeira and Robinson Cano homered and Brett Tomko tossed three scoreless innings to lower his spring ERA to 1.17 as the New York Yankees posted a 6-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

At Dunedin, Florida - Edwin Jackson gave up one run in seven innings in his longest outing of the spring and Placido Polanco belted a two-run shot, lifting the Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

At Jupiter, Florida - Nick Markakis had three hits and Adam Jones and Melvin Mora homered, powering the Baltimore Orioles over the St. Louis Cardinals, 10-6.

At Port Charlotte, Florida - Edinson Volquez lowered his ERA to 0.47, yielding one run and four hits over five innings as the Cincinnati Reds tripped the Tampa Bay Rays, 5-1.

At Viera, Florida - Alex Cintron drove in four runs with a pair of triples, leading the Washington Nationals to a 6-3 win over the Houston Astros.

At Bradenton, Florida - Ian Snell allowed only a solo homer to Ryan Howard in six innings and the Pittsburgh Pirates pounded Jamie Moyer for seven runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings en route to a 10-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

At Port St. Lucie, Florida - Dillon Gee, who likely will begin the season in the minor leagues, allowed two runs - both solo homers - and four hits in 3 1/3 frames as the New York Mets edged the Florida Marlins, 5-4.
