Chan Ho Park, trying to secure the No. 5 spot in the Phillies' rotation, allowed two runs - one earned - and six hits over five innings. Houston starter Mike Hampton was hammered for seven runs in five frames.

At Lake Buena Vista, the Atlanta Braves rallied for single runs in the bottom of the ninth and 10th innings for a 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. At Lee County, Florida, Glen Perkins scattered four hits in six scoreless frames, lifting the Minnesota Twins to a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
