Knicks hold off Kings to snap losing skid

Nov 18, 2010 - 6:01 AM Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) - Amare Stoudemire scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the New York Knicks held off the Sacramento Kings, 113-106, at ARCO Arena.

Danilo Gallinari added 27 points for the Knicks, who snapped a six-game skid. Raymond Felton and Toney Douglas tallied 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Tyreke Evans finished with 23 points, five rebounds, and five assists for the Kings, who have lost six in a row. Carl Landry had 21 points and nine boards, while Beno Udrih added 18 points off the bench in defeat.

Ahead by three, 10-7, the Kings put together a 17-5 run. DeMarcus Cousins tallied 10 points during the burst, including a layup to give Sacramento a 27-12 lead. Douglas' jumper made it a 13-point game heading to the second.

New York used a 40-point second quarter to surge in front. Trailing by 12, 33-21, the Knicks went on a 21-4 spurt. Wilson Chandler's jumper gave the visitors a 42-37 edge with under five minutes remaining.

The Knicks held a 54-49 lead at the break.

New York outscored the Kings, 29-25, in the third to take an 83-74 edge into the fourth.

Douglas' three-pointer gave the Knicks a 93-81 margin with less than nine minutes left in the fourth.

The Kings responded with an 11-1 run to make things interesting. Landry's slam pulled the home team within two, 94-92, with 6 1/2 minutes remaining.

Landry Fields made two free throws and Felton made a jumper around Evans' missed trey to make it a 98-92 contest.

The Kings never got closer than four the rest of the way.
