Bucks take care of Cavs
Mar 10, 2011 - 5:28 AM Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Brandon Jennings and Earl Boykins both finished with 18 points as the Bucks used a balanced attack to top Cleveland, 110-90, at the Bradley Center.John Salmons and Larry Sanders both added 12 points while Chris Douglas- Roberts posted 13 points for Milwaukee, which has won back-to-back games for the first time since it won three in a row from January 26-29.
"Our bench made it very clear that Cleveland would have to do something to get into the game," Bucks coach Scott Skiles said. "I liked our response."
Jon Brockman added 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers, while Andrew Bogut grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for the Bucks, who have won two of three against Cleveland this season.
Samardo Samuels paced the Cavs with 15 points and five rebounds. Daniel Gibson added 13 points and seven assists in a reserve role while both Anthony Parker and Christian Eyenga added 11 points in the loss, Cleveland's third straight.
"We stopped playing," Cavs coach Byron Scott said. "We stopped playing defensively and on the offensive end as a team. We tried to play individual basketball."
Samuels went 5-of-9 from the field in the first quarter to help the Cavaliers build a 27-23 lead.
Using a 8-3 run to open the second quarter, Milwaukee slowly took over. After Eyenga made a three-pointer about three minutes in, Boykins' three-pointer started a 24-6 run that stretched into the final minutes of the quarter.
The Bucks led by as many as 17 in the quarter thanks to Boykins, who scored 13 points in the period. His pullup jumper sent Milwaukee into the locker room with a 62-49 advantage.
Milwaukee created some more distance in the third quarter, which it opened with a 14-4 run to widen its lead to 76-53. Jennings capped the spurt with a three-pointer with 6:22 remaining, and his pair from the line in the final seconds gave Milwaukee an 88-67 lead entering the final stanza.
The Bucks cruised throughout the fourth quarter.
Game Notes
Cleveland's Baron Davis missed the game due to the death of his grandmother...The Cavs are 4-28 on the road this season...Alonzo Gee and Ramon Sessions scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Cleveland.
