Anthony nets 50, Knicks snap Heat's home winning streak

Anthony tied a career high with 50 points on an efficient 18-of-26 shooting night, including 7-of-10 from behind the arc, and the Knicks pulled away down the stretch for a 102-90 victory at American Airlines Arena.
"He was unbelievable," Knicks head coach Mike Woodson said of Anthony. "He refused to let us lose tonight. ... He did everything he was supposed to do to put us in a position to win."
New York, winners of nine in a row, got 14 points from J.R. Smith and 10 points and nine assists from Raymond Felton while also welcoming back All-Star center Tyson Chandler, who missed 10 games due to a bulging disc in his neck.
The Knicks pulled even with the Indiana Pacers for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference behind the Heat with nine to play. They also have two games in hand on Indiana.
Chris Bosh, who drained a game-winning 3-pointer in San Antonio on Sunday, once again paced the Heat with 23 points, while Mike Miller added 18 with eight rebounds in the loss.
The matchup lacked the usual playoff atmosphere between these clubs, but despite Miami sitting its stars and Anthony pouring in 42 points over the first three frames, it was a tight 78-76 game in favor of the Knicks entering the final quarter.
Anthony fittingly helped New York close out the win with a jumper in the lane and a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions, giving his team a 95-88 cushion with 3 1/2 minutes remaining.
Chandler added a free throw a minute later and blocked Bosh at the rim at the other end, and Smith sealed the outcome with a 3-pointer.
Miami did not make a field goal over the final 7:53.
"We probably ran out of a little steam in the fourth quarter," Heat head coach ERik Spoelstra said. "They took it to another level and we weren't able to go to that level in the fourth quarter."
Anthony scored the game's first eight points and had 17 in the first quarter, which ended with the Knicks holding a 27-25 advantage.
Miller stepped up in the second period with 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting, with one of his three 3-pointers coming in the final minute to give the Heat a 58-50 lead entering halftime.
Anthony netted 15 points in the third quarter and assisted on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Steve Novak that gave the visitors a 78-76 edge.
Game Notes
Anthony had two previous 50-point games ... Chandler played 24 minutes and finished with just one point and two rebounds ... Half of Miami's four home losses this season have come against the Knicks ... The Heat fell to 34-3 this season when shooting at least 50 percent from the field ... The Knicks won the season series, 3-1.
