Barrett, Bulls pull out last-second win over Grizzlies
Oct 25, 2006 - 3:23 AM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Andre Barrett atoned for a critical mistake by making a big play in the fourth quarter.Barrett hit the go-ahead layup and Andres Nocioni scored 13 points as the Chicago Bulls posted a 87-84 preseason victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Barrett turned the ball over with a sloppy crosscourt pass, setting up a Chucky Atkins 3-pointer to give the Grizzlies an 84-83 lead with 18 seconds remaining.
On the next possession, Barrett drove past Atkins to give the Bulls the lead for good with 11.8 seconds left. Entering his third season, the undrafted guard netted six points in 12 minutes.
Nocioni shot 3-of-5 from the field, connecting three times from beyond the arc. Ben Gordon added 13 points for the Bulls, who shot 41 percent (29-of-70).
Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Mike Miller scored 23 points and Hakim Warrick added 14 for Memphis, which shot 42 percent (38-71).
