Turner rallies Celtics past Magic

Mar 14, 2015 - 5:32 AM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Evan Turner scored 16 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter, and he provided the go-ahead bucket with 1:54 remaining in Boston's 95-88 win over the Orlando Magic.

Phil Pressey added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Boston. Kelly Olynyk scored 13 and Avery Bradley had 10 for the Celtics, who tied a season-high with their third straight win. They've also captured eight of their last nine home games.

Elfrid Payton scored 20 with nine assists for Orlando, which suffered a third consecutive defeat. The Magic's last win came against the Celtics on Sunday.

Tobias Harris and Nik Vucevic each had 16 points with Vucevic adding 11 boards.

"It's frustrating. We played well for the most part. We competed out there, but they made some big plays at the end of the game," Vucevic said.

Orlando blew an eight-point lead with just under seven minutes left.

Vucevic's jam tied the game at 85 with 2:06 left, but Turner then nailed the go-ahead jumper. He tacked on another short jumper for a four-point lead.

"I get more comfortable down the stretch when it comes to big time moments, big time plays," Turner said. "It's always been that way. I think it's easier for me to lock in to a certain extent and obviously I already had it going a little bit and once the fourth quarter hit I took my shots."

Brandon Bass blocked an attempt from Victor Oladipo at the other end, and Bass sent home a two-handed dunk with 53 seconds left to effectively seal the outcome.

The Celtics, who shot 10-of-18 from the field in the final quarter, including 6-of-6 from Turner, trailed 79-71 following an Oladipo free throw with 6:57 left. The Celtics scored the ensuing eight points, which included 3-pointers from Turner and Bradley.

The Magic held a 50-40 lead at the half and were in front as many as 11 in the third before heading the fourth with a 72-66 edge.
