Nets edge Spurs in OT

Dec 4, 2014 - 5:16 AM Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Mirza Teletovic had 26 points and 15 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets defeated the San Antonio Spurs 95-93 in overtime on Wednesday night.

The Spurs didn't record a field goal in the extra session until Danny Green hit a right corner 3-pointer with 1:38 left, pulling the defending champions within 95-93.

Manu Ginobili, though, missed a pair of potentially go-ahead triples in the final 1:06, including one in the final five seconds to seal the outcome.

Brook Lopez posted 16 points and 15 boards, Deron Williams recorded 17 points and nine assists and Bojan Bogdanovic added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Nets, who have won four of their last six games on the heels of a five- game losing streak.

"We're competing for each other and everybody made great plays, passes and shots," Nets coach Lionel Hollins said.

Danny Green nailed six 3-pointers, including on with 2.4 seconds in regulation to send the game into overtime.

"We fought. We battled. Learn from it, move forward and fix the mistakes we made," Green said.

He netted 20 points in all to go with 10 rebounds for San Antonio, which had its eight-game winning streak snapped. Tim Duncan supplied 14 points and 17 boards.

San Antonio trailed 81-68 after Teletovic knocked down a trey midway through the fourth, but the Spurs countered with a 15-3 run to claw within a point.

Green hit a pair of 3-pointers during the surge, which was capped on a Ginobili triple to get the Spurs within 84-83 with 2:01 remaining in regulation.

Both teams were unable to score on each of their next two possessions before Lopez banked in a shot from the top of the key with 18.1 ticks on the clock to give Brooklyn an 86-83 lead.

Ginobili quickly drove in for a layup at the other end and Williams sunk two foul shots with 7.2 seconds to go, keeping the Nets ahead by three.

Earlier, the game was tied 19-19 following a quarter of play and the Spurs led 42-40 heading into the break.

The Nets outscored San Antonio 28-16 in the third and headed into the fourth with a 68-58 margin.

Teletovic's 15 rebounds was a career high ... Brooklyn held San Antonio to 35.6 percent (36-of-101) from the floor ... The Nets snapped a three-game home losing streak and improved to 4-4 at Barclays Center this season ... San Antonio is still 21-3 against Brooklyn over their last 24 meetings.
