Warriors top Bulls, extend winning streak to 12

Dec 7, 2014 - 5:43 AM Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Curry continued his shooting struggles at United Center, but Draymond Green picked up the slack.

Green scored a career-high 31 points and stuffed the stat sheet as the Golden State Warriors pulled out a 112-102 road win over the Chicago Bulls to extend a franchise-best win streak to 12 games.

Green made seven 3-pointers as part of an 11-for-20 shooting performance while also contributing seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks.

Klay Thompson added 24 points and Curry scored 19 for the Warriors, who haven't lost since a home setback to San Antonio on Nov. 11.

"All I know is, it's great to have good players," said first-year Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. "I'm the luckiest coach in the NBA."

Curry handed out a game-high seven assists but shot just 5-for-14 from the field in his first career win against the Bulls in Chicago. He hit a combined 19-for-55 in four previous losses.

Jimmy Butler's 24 points and Pau Gasol's 22-point, 20-rebound effort weren't enough for Chicago, which fell to 2-5 at home this season.

"They're a tough team to match up against," said Gasol. "They have a lot of players that can spread the floor, shoot the ball well. They do a good job of moving the ball and finding the open guy."

Green scored 11 points, including three triples, during a 20-4 spurt that led to a Bulls timeout midway through the first quarter.

Chicago chipped away from there and opened the second quarter on a 11-0 run to climb back in front, but the Warriors starting unit returned midway through the period and the visitors regained control.

Thompson shot 4-of-6 for 13 points in the second, Andre Iguodala beat the buzzer with a scoop layup and Golden State led 61-49 at halftime.

The third quarter belonged to the Bulls, who shot 5-of-6 from the arc in the stanza and led 80-79 following Gasol's late hook.

Midway through the fourth, Thompson and Green hit back-to-back 3s around a Kirk Hinrich miss and Iguodala had a jam in transition to give the Warriors a 97-87 lead.

The lead hovered between seven and 13 the rest of the way.

Game Notes

The Bulls had won five straight home games against the Warriors, who were 6-28 in their last 34 in Chicago ... There were 15 lead changes ... Andrew Bogut had 12 rebounds for the Warriors ... Green's seven 3s were a career-best.
