Warriors breeze past Sixers

Dec 31, 2014 - 6:19 AM Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Another trip to Oakland ... another blowout loss for the 76ers.

Marreese Speights led a balanced scoring attack with 23 points to pace the Golden State Warriors to a 126-86 rout of Philadelphia.

Leandro Barbosa added 17 points and Draymond Green tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three blocks for the NBA-best Warriors (25-5), who have won back-to-back contests since losing two straight games at Staples Center last week to the Lakers and Clippers.

Stephen Curry had 13 points and nine assists, while Klay Thompson scored 14 in the win. Seven Warriors scored in double figures.

Golden State won 123-80 at home against the Sixers Feb. 10, 2014, and this game produced a similar result.

"I was really pleased with the ball movement. What made me the most happy was the way our reserves closed out the game," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "Our guys really played hard through the final 12 minutes."

To say it was sloppy performance by the Sixers would be an understatement. They committed 28 turnovers, which led to 43 Golden State points.

Henry Sims scored 19 for the Sixers, who have dropped three straight and eight of their last 10 contests to fall to an NBA-worst 4-26. Michael Carter- Williams was limited to four points on 1-of-7 shooting.

"You could see some things we did well based on how we practiced," said Sixers coach Brett Brown, who added that the interior passing was good, but that there was a lack of finishing.

Thompson scored 11 in the first quarter, when the Warriors shot 13-of-22 from the field.

The Sixers scored the game's first six points, only to see the Warriors respond with the next 11. Thompson's driving slam opened the first double- digit lead at 22-12 with 4:07 left. The margin stood at 32-17 after 12 minutes.

Thompson's 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the half provided a 61-34 cushion at the break. Speights and Thompson each had 14 points by halftime.

Barbosa scored 11 during the third when the Warriors shot 60 percent. They were up as many as 36 in the period and went to the fourth holding a 96-63 bulge.

Golden State led by as many as 47 in the final quarter.

The 76ers have failed to score 100 points in each of the last seven games ... The Sixers are just 3-11 in the last 14 visits to Golden State ... Speights tied a career-best with four blocks.
