Griffin, Clippers edge Pacers
Dec 18, 2014 - 7:56 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Blake Griffin had 31 points and 16 rebounds in the Los Angeles Clippers' 102-100 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.Chris Paul added 20 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who have won six in a row at home. J.J. Redick tallied 16 points and DeAndre Jordan contributed 15 points and 23 rebounds.
"We made a lot of bad mistakes down the stretch," said Griffin. "I missed free throws; a lot of things that are uncharacteristic for us. But we got the win. That's all that matters."
David West ended with 17 points and 10 boards for the Pacers, who have lost nine of 10. C.J. Miles also had 17 points.
Indiana started the fourth quarter on a 17-5 run to take an 89-83 lead. Miles tallied six points during the surge, including a slam with 7:44 to play.
But the Clippers responded with a 16-6 spurt to grab the lead for good. Griffin scored five points during the flurry, including a dunk with 1:29 left to make it 99-95.
C.J. Watson made three free throws with 34.9 seconds remaining to make it a one-point contest. After Griffin turned the ball over, Rodney Stuckey missed a jumper.
J.J. Redick made 3-of-4 free throws around a Watson layup to make it 102-100 with two seconds left. Miles missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.
"We competed our tails off," said Pacers coach Frank Vogel. "We wanted this one really bad."
The Clippers led for most of the first half and took a 52-51 margin into the locker room.
Los Angeles led by as many as eight in the third and held a 78-72 edge after three quarters.

Indiana dropped its seventh straight road game ... Stuckey, Watson and Lavoy Allen each had 12 points for the Pacers ... The Clippers went 28-of-45 from the foul line.
