Pacers use strong second half to beat Heat

Miles made five 3-pointers en route to 25 points and the Indiana Pacers used a strong second half to beat the Miami Heat, 106-95, on Wednesday.George Hill added 20 points for the Pacers, who also beat the Heat in South Beach on Nov. 12. C.J. Watson tallied 11 points and Roy Hibbert contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Indiana outscored Miami by a 64-44 margin in the second half.
Dwyane Wade ended with 20 points, seven assists, three blocks and two steals for the Heat, who have lost three in a row. Chris Bosh had 18 points and eight boards, while Danny Granger scored 14 points off the bench against his former team.
"In the second half we weren't getting stops. So even if we were getting good clean looks, the majority of them were not in the paint," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.
Miami led by as many as nine in the first half and took a 51-42 advantage into the locker room.
The Heat built an 11-point lead early in the third quarter, but the Pacers responded with a 9-1 run. Hibbert's hook shot cut the gap to 56-53 with 9:10 left.
Miami was able to maintain the lead and led 67-59 with 5:12 remaining. However, Indiana ended the third on 19-3 run to go in front for good. Miles made a pair of 3-pointers during the burst that David West capped with a trey at the buzzer for a 78-70 advantage.
"We weren't in a great rhythm in the first half," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "Once we made some plays in the third quarter, the crowd got behind us and it changed."
The Pacers led by at least six throughout the fourth.
Game Notes
The Pacers have won six straight regular season home matchups over Miami ... Luol Deng and Chris Andersen had 15 and 11 points, respectively, for the Heat ... West ended with 10 points for the Pacers, who went 10-of-18 from beyond the arc.
