Paul guides Clippers past Kings
Mar 19, 2015 - 6:23 AM Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul scored 20 of his 30 points in the second half to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past the Sacramento Kings, 116-105, on Wednesday night.Paul also dished out 11 assists for the Clippers, who went 17-of-37 from beyond the arc. J.J. Redick made seven 3-pointers en route to 27 points and Blake Griffin tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds.
"Still not completely there," said Griffin, referring to his recent surgery. "Just have to be patient with it I guess."
Rudy Gay ended with 23 points, six rebounds and three steals in his return from a two-game absence for the Kings, who have dropped four straight. Andre Miller and Nik Stauskas contributed 16 and 13 points, respectively.
"I'm comfortable out there, I'm confident," said Stauskas, who has played sparingly during his rookie season.
Sacramento was without DeMarcus Cousins (calf).
Trailing 80-73, the Kings started the fourth quarter on an 11-4 run to tie things up. Reggie Evans tallied five points during the surge that Miller capped with a layup for an 84-84 game with 9:13 to play.
But the Clippers responded with an 18-6 spurt. Redick and Hedo Turkoglu each made two 3-pointers during the burst, with Redick's four-point play making it 102-90 with 5:30 left.
Sacramento never got closer than seven the rest of the way. Los Angeles went 8-of-12 from beyond the arc in the final period.
The Clippers led by as many as seven in the first half and took a 51-49 advantage into the locker room.
Ahead 69-66 late in the third stanza, Los Angeles used a 7-0 spurt to build a 10-point margin. The visitors would take a seven-point margin into the fourth.

Turkoglu had 19 points for Los Angeles, which got 15 rebounds from DeAndre Jordan ... Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams ended with 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Kings, who went 3-of-17 from beyond the arc ... Sacramento went 26-of-32 from the foul line ... Gay missed the previous two games with a knee injury ... The Clippers played without starting forward Matt Barnes (sore right hamstring).
