"Damian finished with a flurry, which was fun to watch," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said.
LaMarcus Aldridge posted 15 points and nine rebounds, while Wesley Matthews added 16 points and five helpers for Portland, which has won eight of its last nine games.
Wesley Johnson netted 17 points to lead the Lakers, who were without Kobe Bryant due to rest. LA fell to 2-4 on the season without him in the lineup.
"We competed, I'm proud of that. We didn't run out of gas," Lakers coach Byron Scott said.
The game was tied 75-75 early in the fourth quarter before the Blazers went on a 14-1 run to seize control. Lillard netted eight straight points before Aldridge capped the surge with a jumper for an 89-76 advantage prior to the midway point of the frame.
LA never cut the deficit below seven the rest of the way.
Earlier, Portland led 23-20 following a quarter of play and was up 50-45 heading into the locker room.
Tarik Black's dunk finished off a 7-0 Lakers spurt to tie the game at 69-69 late in the third, but Portland still took a 72-69 edge into the final stanza.
