Gordon, Pelicans down Heat

Feb 22, 2015 - 4:28 AM Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Eric Gordon had 24 points and six assists as the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Miami Heat 105-91 on Saturday night.

Omer Asik posted 15 points and nine rebounds, while Tyreke Evans added 13 points, six helpers and three steals for the Pelicans, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Mario Chalmers netted 20 points, Dwyane Wade supplied 19 points and Hassan Whiteside provided 11 points and 16 boards for Miami, which has dropped five of its last seven contests.

The newly-acquired Goran Dragic tallied 12 points in his Heat debut.

The Pelicans raced out to a 15-5 advantage and never looked back. Anthony Davis netted six quick points, including a three-point play and a jumper to stake them to their early 10-point margin with 4:52 remaining in the opening frame.

Davis, though, exited later in the first after aggravating a right shoulder injury.

Chalmers banked in a shot at the horn to pull Miami within 25-14 after a quarter of play and New Orleans was up 52-42 at the break.

The Pelicans began the third on a 19-4 run to go even further in front. Gordon knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and netted 13 points during the surge, capping it with a pair of free throws for a 71-46 cushion.

New Orleans took an 85-65 spread into the fourth, where it cruised to the easy victory.

New Orleans snapped a four-game losing skid against sub .500 teams ... The Heat confirmed Saturday that All-Star forward Chris Bosh will miss the remainder of the season as he continues treatment for blood clots in his lungs ... The Pelicans scored 24 points off 17 Miami turnovers.
