Bucks send Magic to 9th straight road loss

Mar 12, 2015 - 4:00 AM Milwaukee, WI ( - Michael Carter-Williams scored 11 points and made two key free throws with 1:19 left to lift the Milwaukee Bucks over the Orlando Magic, 97-91, on Wednesday.

Carter-Williams' free throws broke a 91-91 tie. After Tobias Harris missed a layup at the other end, Giannis Antetokounmpo threw down a dunk. Khris Middleton added two free throws following a missed 3-pointer by Harris.

Carter-Williams also had nine rebounds and six assists for the Bucks, who bounced back from a 114-103 loss to the Pelicans on Monday. Middleton tallied 30 points and Ersan Ilyasova added 12 points and six rebounds.

"I think this was another step in the right direction," said Bucks coach Jason Kidd.

Nikola Vucevic ended with 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Magic, who have lost nine straight on the road. Harris scored 17 points and Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo each tallied 14 points.

"I want to feel a win right now for our group, it always helps," said Magic coach James Borrego. "I'm proud of our guys, their effort, I thought they played really well tonight."

The Magic led 57-54 after the first half, which featured 15 lead changes and 15 ties.

Orlando used a 6-0 spurt to build a 70-60 lead, but the Bucks ended the third quarter on a 12-2 run. Chris Johnson's jumper made it 72-72 heading to the fourth.

The final frame had seven lead changes and two ties.

Game Notes

Bucks guard O.J. Mayo returned from a four-game absence due to a hamstring injury and totaled four points in 10 minutes, but Jerryd Bayless sat out with a sore right ankle ... Orlando guards Willie Green (back spasms) and Evan Fournier (hip) missed the game.
