Morris, Green power Suns past 76ers

Jan 3, 2015 - 5:49 AM Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Markieff Morris and Gerald Green both scored 21 points and the Phoenix Suns overcame a halftime deficit to rally past the Philadelphia 76ers, 112-96, on Friday.

Eric Bledsoe tallied 17 points and eight assists and Goran Dragic had 10 points and a season-high 10 boards for Phoenix, which returned home following a four-game road trip that ended with a 137-134 overtime loss in Oklahoma City on New Year's Eve.

The Suns have swept the season series with Philly each of the past two seasons, winning the four games by a combined 67 points.

Tony Wroten fell three points shy of his career high with 28 off the bench for Philadelphia, losers in four straight following a pair of wins to kick off a seven-game road trip. Michael Carter-Williams posted 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

"I was very happy with our effort," said Sixers coach Brett Brown. "Never once did we feel sorry for ourselves or hang our head. We competed for the whole 48 minutes."

Wroten had 15 of Philadelphia's 30 second-quarter points. He capped the second with a three-point play with 1.4 seconds left, as the Sixers overcame a 10- point deficit midway through the period to take a 59-57 lead into halftime.

Dragic and Markieff Morris hit consecutive 3s during an 8-0 run to start the second half. The Suns led from that point on, extending their lead to 80-68 on Miles Plumlee's alley-oop from Bledsoe with 2:20 left in the period.

But the Sixers had one more push. Wroten and Robert Covington made triples during an 11-0 flurry that had the visitors within a point. Phoenix scored the final four points of the third and first four of the fourth to regain control.

Late in the fourth quarter, with the game well in hand, the Suns became the first team in NBA history to play a pair of brothers on the court at the same time, as Zoran Dragic joined his brother Goran in a lineup that also included both Morris twins, Markieff and Marcus.

"It feels awesome to make NBA history with two sets of brothers on the same team playing together, said Goran Dragic. "I'm just happy that he got an opportunity to play well in those two minutes."

Game Notes

Eight Phoenix players scored seven points or more, with five finishing in double figures ... The Suns shot 14-for-16 from the foul line and 14-for-32 from behind the arc.
