Westbrook posts another triple-double, OKC tops Toronto

Westbrook had 30 points, 17 assists and 11 rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Toronto Raptors for a 108-104 win.

Still wearing a protective plastic mask stemming from a facial fracture, Westbrook recorded his fourth triple-double in his last five games and seventh of the season.

"It crosses my mind when we win, which is the most important thing," Westbrook said of the triple-doubles.

Enes Kanter posted 21 points and 12 boards, while Serge Ibaka added 21 points and seven rebounds for the Thunder, who had dropped three of their last five games coming in.

DeMar DeRozan supplied 24 points and nine assists and Terrence Ross supplied 20 points for Toronto, which has lost eight of its last nine contests.

"It's not like we didn't play hard, but they took it to another level and we didn't meet it," Toronto coach Dwane Casey said.

After two Kyle Lowry free throws staked the Raptors to a 75-73 lead late in the third quarter, the Thunder closed the frame on a 13-4 run to seize control.

Westbrook netted seven points during the surge and Steven Adams knocked down a jumper at the buzzer to cap it and give OKC an 86-79 advantage heading into the fourth.

The lead swelled to 95-83 early in the fourth following an Anthony Morrow jumper, but Jonas Valanciunas finished off a 9-0 Raptors spurt with a short hook to claw them within 95-92 with 7:01 to play.

OKC, though, responded with seven of the next nine points, with a Kanter reverse layup extending its margin to 102-94 with 2:38 left.

A DeRozan reverse dunk whittled the gap to 106-104 with 15.4 ticks on the clock, but Westbrook sunk a pair of foul shots at the other end. DeRozan then missed a step-back 3 to seal the outcome.

The Thunder led 31-26 following a quarter of play, but the Raptors outscored them 35-27 in the second and were up 61-58 at the break.

Game Notes

Westbrook now has more triple-doubles this season than his teammate Durant does for his entire career (6) ... The Thunder won despite turning the ball over 18 times, 10 more than Toronto ... OKC shot 51.2 percent (42-of-82) from the floor.
