Grizzlies handle Sixers

Jan 25, 2015 - 6:47 AM Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Randolph registered 17 points with 14 rebounds to help the Memphis Grizzlies in a 101-83 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

Jeff Green led the Grizzlies with 18 points and Vince Carter added 13 points off the bench.

Memphis, which defeated the Sixers 120-115 in overtime on Dec. 13, has taken five straight against them in the series.

"Honestly I don't think we dominated that much," Grizzlies center Marc Gasol said. "I felt that we could have done a better job."

Jerami Grant deposited a career-high 16 points and Michael Carter-Williams posted 10 points with six assists for Philadelphia, which has dropped five straight games overall.

The Sixers held a brief lead in the first quarter until Jeff Green kicked off a 12-2 run for Memphis with a three-point play. Tony Allen capped the spurt to give the Grizzlies a 20-15 lead.

Memphis led by six after the first quarter, then it opened the second on a 13-5 run to stretch the margin to 40-26.

"Memphis was Memphis in the second period," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. "(The Grizzlies) are men. They are physical."

Philadelphia was within striking distance minutes later, but the hosts doubled up the Sixers 14-7 over the final 4:20 of the half to grab a 60-41 lead at the break.

Memphis maintained a large advantage throughout the second half, leading by as many as 25 en route to its sixth win in seven games.
