Grizzlies remain unbeaten, spoil Hornets' opener

Oct 10, 2010 - 3:30 AM NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Zach Randolph scored 21 points, Sam Young had nine of his 12 in the fourth quarter, and the Memphis Grizzlies remained unbeaten in the preseason with a 97-90 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday night.

The Hornets led 74-71 entering the fourth quarter, but Young hit a 3-pointer that gave the Grizzlies (3-0) an 81-78 lead with 9:09 remaining. Young added two fast-break baskets as Memphis opened a 95-86 advantage with 1:31 left.

O.J. Mayo added 11 points, as 13 of the 15 Grizzlies who played scored. One who didn't was Rudy Gay, who missed all seven field-goal attempts.

Trevor Ariza scored 17 points and Marco Belinelli, also making his New Orleans debut, added 13. Chris Paul and David West had 12 apiece.

New Orleans was the last NBA team to begin preseason play.
