Warriors close out trek against Bucks

Nov 13, 2010 - 3:53 PM (Sports Network) - The Golden State Warriors hope to conclude a five-game road trip on a high-note Saturday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center.

The Warriors fell to 2-2 on the trek Thursday in Chicago when Luol Deng scored 26 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out six assists, as the Bulls destroyed Golden State 120-90.

Monta Ellis tallied 24 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Warriors, who were without big man David Lee (elbow). Stephen Curry had 17 points, six assists and five steals for Golden State, which fell to 6-3 on the season.

"Give them credit. The Bulls played a very good, aggressive game," Warriors head coach Keith Smart said. "We just didn't have the juice to compete tonight. They came out and attacked us. We then turned over the ball. We just have to move on from here."

Lee suffered a laceration on his left elbow in Wednesday's victory over the New York Knicks, when his elbow caught Wilson Chandler's face on a rebound and knocked out two of Chandler's teeth. The former Knick completed the game and scored 28 points but woke on the next day in pain with swelling in his forearm and biceps.

By 8:30 a.m., Lee was on his way to a Chicago emergency room and the hospital started an IV and put Lee on a series of antibiotics.

"I know, I know, it's an elbow scratch," Lee told the San Francisco Chronicle. "But I was in the worst pain of my life."

Lee does plan to play tonight.

The Bucks, meanwhile, earned their second straight win in Atlanta on Wednesday when Corey Maggette scored 20 points off the bench, and Brandon Jennings added 19 points and six assists to lead a balanced attack in Milwaukee's 108-91 victory over the Hawks.

Ersan Ilyasova provided 17 points and 10 boards in a reserve role, while John Salmons supplied 16 points for the Bucks, who have won three of their last four overall.

"This is a whole new season," said Milwaukee center Andrew Bogut in reference to the seven-game post-season series between the two teams last season. "People are going to build this rivalry up because they beat us last year in the playoffs but it is pretty much a whole new team besides Brandon and a few other guys. We haven't been playing good basketball but tonight, we played very tough and got them on a rough night."

Milwaukee has won three straight over the Warriors and swept the home-and-home season series a year ago.
