Nov 14, 2010 - 3:51 PM (Sports Network) - The slumping Sacramento Kings will commence a four-game homestand tonight versus the Detroit Pistons at Arco Arena. The Kings, who are in the midst of playing eight of nine games as the host, suffered their fourth straight loss in Friday's 103-89 decision against the Phoenix Suns in the desert.
Carl Landry had 20 points and 11 rebounds, while reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans notched 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Kings, who will try to build on their 1-3 home ledger Sunday night.
"We were the victim of a Hall of Fame player having a Hall of Fame night," Kings head coach Paul Westphal said of Steve Nash, who ended with a season- high 28 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds. "Steve Nash was unspeakably sensational with his decision-making and his execution."
Westphal's squad will also play host to the Knicks, Nets and Hornets on the upcoming residency.
Detroit has won three of four games since an 0-5 start to the 2010-11 season, and will continue a four-game road trip this evening.
The Pistons recorded a 113-107 victory in overtime against the hosting Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, as Charlie Villanueva finished with a season-high 30 points and Rodney Stuckey added 17 and six assists in the win. Richard Hamilton chipped in 12 points, five steals and five rebounds for Detroit, which is 1-4 as the visitor this season.
"The guys played hard all game, and Charlie was huge both offensively and defensively," said Detroit head coach John Kuester. "This was a great win because we were on the road."
Kuester's team will visit Golden State on Monday.
Sacramento and Detroit split a two-game series a year ago, with each team prevailing as the guest. The Kings are 15-8 in the past 23 overall meetings in this series and 10-3 in the previous 13 encounters at Arco Arena.
