Raptors, Wizards collide in DC

Nov 16, 2010 - 4:06 PM (Sports Network) - The Toronto Raptors resume a four-game road trip Tuesday when they arrive in the nation's capital to face the Washington Wizards.

The Raptors fell to 1-1 on the trek on Saturday when Dwyane Wade put an ugly game behind him with a 31-point, eight-rebound night, leading the Miami Heat to a 109-100 wire-to-wire decision over the Toronto Raptors.

LeBron James posted 23 points and 11 assists, while Chris Bosh, in his first game against his former team, added 12 points and six boards in the win. Bosh, Toronto's all-time franchise leader in points, rebounds, free throws made and blocks, signed with Miami as a free agent in the offseason.

"I played with [Bosh] for six years so it was strange [playing against him]. He was a great teammate and is a great friend," Raptors guard Jose Calderon said.

Andrea Bargnani scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan netted 21 points for the Raptors, who were coming off an unlikely win at Orlando on Friday.

Calderon and Sonny Weems each netted 15 points for Toronto, while Amir Johnson scored 14.

The Wizards, meanwhile, are coming off their second straight loss, a 103-96 setback at the hands of Chicago Bulls in the Windy City. Derrick Rose finished with 24 points and Joakim Noah ended with 21 points and nine rebounds in that one.

Gilbert Arenas finished with 30 points and rookie star John Wall ended with 16 points and six assists for Washington, which has lost back-to-back games and four of its last five.

"He's kind of going through training camp right now," said Washington head coach Flip Saunders about Arenas. "I think the last few days he's worked hard and has been shooting the ball well."

Three key Toronto contributors, guard Leandro Barbosa (strained left shoulder), forward Reggie Evans (flu) and forward Linas Kleiza (sore right Achilles) are questionable for tonight's game. Wall (sprained left foot), and forward Yi Jianlian (bruised right knee) are questionable for the Wizards, while forward Andray Blatche is probable with a swollen left knee.

Toronto has won two straight and three of the last four in the series.
