Bulls hit the road to Houston
Nov 16, 2010 - 4:11 PM (Sports Network) - With the circus taking place in the Windy City, the Chicago Bulls will begin a seven-game road trip out west starting with tonight's showdown against the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center. The Bulls will also visit the Spurs, Mavericks, Lakers, Suns, Nuggets and Kings, and have won three in a row since a two-game skid. In a 103-96 victory over rookie John Wall and the Washington Wizards on Saturday, Derrick Rose finished with 24 points and Joakim Noah added 21 points and nine rebounds.
Luol Deng recorded 20 points and nine rebounds, while Keith Bogans chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds for the Bulls, who made 44.7 percent of their shots.
"I thought we didn't cover well," said Deng. "We were scoring at the other end, but we can't be giving up baskets the way we did tonight."
Chicago will play just its third road game of the season under new coach Tom Thibodeau and lost the first two at Oklahoma City and Boston.
Houston has won two straight and three of four games, and completed a three- game road trip with a 2-1 mark.
The Rockets posted a 104-96 win at New York on Sunday, as Luis Scola registered 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Kevin Martin scored 28 points for Houston, which seems to have turned the corner after an 0-5 start.
"It's just a matter of everyone zeroing in on it," said Rockets head coach Rick Adelman. "If we do the things we did last year, we can win games. I thought the third quarter, fourth quarter we did a nice job. We had 28 assists. That's a lot of assists."
With Yao Ming already out with a sprained left ankle, the Rockets may not have forward Chase Budinger, who is questionable for tonight and did not play in the win over the Knicks because of the same problem. Rockets guard Aaron Brooks is out with an ankle sprain as well.
Houston is 1-2 at home and has lost three straight to the Bulls. The Rockets, however, have won 11 of the last 15 games against Chicago, losers in six of its last eight trips to the Toyota Center.
