Bosh, Heat roll to 27-point win over Suns
Nov 18, 2010 - 4:34 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Chris Bosh finished with a season-high 35 points and LeBron James added 20 points, nine assists and eight rebounds as Miami easily topped Phoenix, 123-96, at American Airlines Arena."We weren't expecting that result," said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra. "We just wanted to focus on our game, our energy and really having that defensive edge to us again. That is one of the most challenging teams to defend."
Dwyane Wade added 17 points and Eddie House finished with 15 points in a reserve role for Miami, which has won five of its last six meetings with Phoenix.
Steve Nash finished with a team-high 17 points and Grant Hill added 15 on 9- of-9 from the line for the Suns, who began a four game road trip in Miami.
Channing Frye finished with 14 points starting in place of the injured Robin Lopez, and Jason Richardson and Goran Dragic each chipped in 11 points in the loss.
Bosh scored eight of the game's first 10 points, and after a quick surge from Phoenix, Miami held a 17-12 margin just under 6 1/2 minutes in. Bosh finished the quarter with 14 points as Miami held a 27-24 lead after 12 minutes.
Wade's running dunk off a Udonis Haslem steal at 5:46 put the Heat up, 44-34, before two James free throws at 2:13 started an 11-3 Heat run to end the half. Miami held a 64-43 advantage heading to the locker room.
Carlos Arroyo hit a three-pointer to give the hosts a 25-point lead early in the third quarter. A Nash layup cut the Miami lead to 82-70, but the Heat responded with 18-3 run, highlighted by two House triples, to take a 100-73 lead heading to the final stanza.
House's jumper put Miami up by 33, it's largest lead of the game, 1 1/2 minutes into the final quarter. The Heat's lead never dropped below 22 the rest of the way.
"We couldn't score," said Hill. "Some of it was their defense. They were aggressive and good with their rotations. We had good looks but we just couldn't make them. Sometimes that is going to happen. It is unfortunate when it happens against a really good team on national television."
