Struggling Sixers host Bucks
Nov 19, 2010 - 3:48 PM (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks have a good shot at recording their third straight win on the road, as they are set to take on the struggling Philadelphia 76ers tonight from Wells Fargo Center. The Bucks are coming off a hard-fought loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Tuesday, as Kobe Bryant scored 31 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the two-time defending champions out of their two-game funk.
Brandon Jennings scored 31 points to lead the Bucks, who had won three straight and four of their last five games. Drew Gooden posted 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Andrew Bogut had 12 points and 18 boards in defeat.
"The losing mindset is to look at other people to blame," Bucks head coach Scott Skiles said. "That's generally not what winners are doing and if that was what we're doing that's not a good sign. They took it to us. We had some silly fouls in the first half. As I said, we didn't take care of our business tonight."
Corey Maggette scored 15 points for Milwaukee. The Bucks, who are 2-3 away from the Bradley Center, outrebounded the Lakers by a 47-40 margin and made 46.1 percent of their shots.
Philadelphia has lost five in a row since winning two of three games and suffered its second straight loss at home with Wednesday's 94-86 setback versus the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors snapped an 85-85 tie with a 9-1 run to close the out game and got 30 points from Andrea Bargnani.
Elton Brand had his best game of the season, scoring 27 points with eight rebounds, while Jrue Holiday contributed 17 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the 76ers, who fell to 2-10 under first-year head coach Doug Collins. Collins was disappointed in the team's inability to finish.
"We just aren't finishing games," 76ers head coach Doug Collins said. "You have to be able to close games. That is the essence of NBA basketball."
With Sixers forward and defensive specialist Andre Iguodala sidelined due to an Achilles injury, rookie Evan Turner played a team-high 43-plus minutes against the Raptors. Turner had a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. Iguodala is questionable for Friday's game.
The 76ers are only 1-4 in the City of Brotherly Love.
Milwaukee and Philadelphia split four meetings a year ago, but the Sixers are 10-5 in the previous 15 contests in the series. The Bucks ended a four-game losing streak in south Philly with a 95-90 win on April 9, 2010.
