Bulls continue road swing in Dallas

Nov 19, 2010 - 3:53 PM (Sports Network) - Chicago resumes a grueling seven-game road trip in north Texas tonight against a solid Dallas Mavericks club aiming to continue its dominance over the Bulls in Big D.

The Mavs have won five straight and 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two clubs in Dallas.

The Bulls fell to 1-1 on their trek Wednesday in San Antonio when Tony Parker put his personal issues aside, scoring 21 points to go along with seven assists, as the Spurs used a big third quarter to down Chicago, 103-94.

Parker made 9-of-14 shots to go along with seven assists hours after his famous wife, actress Eva Longoria, filed divorce papers.

Derrick Rose finished with 33 points, while Luol Deng added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Bulls, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end. Joakim Noah contributed 10 points and 14 rebounds

"They got us back on our heels to start the third," said Chicago head coach Tom Thibodeau. "In the fourth quarter, we fought back. We were in position, but they are the type of team that you can't make mistakes."

Dallas, meanwhile, is coming off a home-and-home split with a talented New Orleans club. After handing the Hornets their first loss of the season in Big D on Monday, the Mavs dropped the back end of the set, 99-97, in the Big Easy on Wednesday. Chris Paul scored 20 points with 11 assists in that one as New Orleans did just enough down the stretch to hold off the Mavs.

Dirk Nowitzki did it all with 29 points and nine rebounds, while Jason Terry added 16 points and seven assists off the bench for Dallas, which also saw a four-game winning streak halted.

Jason Kidd compiled 11 points and eight assists, while Tyson Chandler contributed 10 points and seven rebounds

"Our undoing was the third quarter, when we were dominated," said Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle. "We lose the quarter by 16 points and we get our ass kicked."
