Rush, Pacers earn easy road win over struggling Heat
Nov 23, 2010 - 5:27 AM Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Brandon Rush scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Indiana Pacers handled the Miami Heat, 93-77.Danny Granger added 20 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists for the Pacers, who had lost all four of their meetings with Miami last season. T.J. Ford tallied 13 points, six boards, and five assists off the bench.
"It is definitely a momentum builder for us," Rush said. "We came into their building knowing how good they are supposed to be. They just had a bad night tonight."
LeBron James finished with 25 points, six assists, and five boards for the Heat, who have lost two in a row. Chris Bosh added 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Dwyane Wade, who sat out the last game with a wrist injury, went just 1-of-13 from the floor for three points for Miami, which got just four points from its bench.
"Games like this you can't predict," Wade said. "I think we did some good things defensively against a great offensive team. We played decent. We rebounded the ball, not as good as them but without a lot of guys we did a decent job. I don't think I've gone 1 for 13 before."
The Heat held a 22-19 lead after 12 minutes of play, but the Pacers used a big second quarter to surge in front.
Ford got the second stanza started with a pair of jumpers to give Indiana a 23-22 edge. Just moments later, the Pacers ripped off six straight points to take a 36-28 margin on Ford's jumper.
Ahead by seven, 38-31, Indiana went on a 12-2 run to create some distance. Tyler Hansbrough's hook shot made it 50-33 with 3 1/2 minutes to go until half.
James and Bosh each made a pair of free throws before the break to cut the gap to 54-41.
A tightly contested third quarter resulted in the Pacers taking a 74-64 lead into the fourth.
James made a three-pointer and a pair of free throws to cut Miami's deficit to seven, 76-69, with nine minutes to play.
The Pacers fought right back with a 9-1 flurry to put the game away. Roy Hibbert's jumper gave Indiana an 85-70 advantage with 6 1/2 minutes left.
