Stuckey, Pistons beat Bucks by 14

Nov 27, 2010 - 7:02 AM Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Rodney Stuckey scored a team-high 18 points in Detroit's 103-89 victory over Milwaukee at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Stuckey was 8-for-12 from the field and the Pistons shot a season-high 56.2 percent as a team to snap a two-game losing streak, winning for only the second time in six outings.

"We passed the ball pretty well and we have to continue to do that," Stuckey said. "I think if we do that every night we'll be alright. We just have to focus on defense now."

Detroit had seven scorers in double figures, including Richard Hamilton and Charlie Villanueva, who tallied 15 points apiece. Tayshaun Prince had 14 points and seven boards, while Villanueva also pulled in eight rebounds.

Brandon Jennings collected a game-high 25 points and added six assists for the Bucks, who are on a five-game slide. Ersan Ilyasova had 14 points and John Salmons added 11 points in the loss.

"We have to stay focused. We have to stay engaged," Jennings said. "We have to start on the defensive end first and then things will come. You know tonight we got where we wanted it but we didn't finish."

With the game in-hand early in the final quarter, the Pistons claimed their biggest lead of the night, 96-73, as Prince made a breakaway dunk off an Ilyasova turnover with 5:36 left.

Detroit re-gained the 23-point lead a little over 1 1/2 minutes later on a Villanueva hook shot and then broke 100 points, 100-77, when Greg Monroe made a layup. The Bucks were unable to make it a game while shooting 38.6 percent from the field.

Prince scored 10 first-quarter points on 5-of-6 shooting to help the Pistons to a 29-18 lead. They lead as much as 14 during the quarter when Hamilton netted a trey with 1:35 left to play in the first.

Detroit, behind a 13-1 run, made it 46-31 with 5:21 left in the first half. The scoring stretch was sparked by a Salmons technical foul, which the Pistons converted into a four points on a Gordon free throw and then a Villanueva three-pointer.

The margin remained in double digits, 55-43, heading into the break when Hamilton made two free throws with 31.7 left to play.

The Pistons kept their distance in the third, heading into the final quarter with a 75-64 edge despite the Bucks winning the quarter, 21-20.
