Jazz begin homestand vs. Bucks

Nov 29, 2010 - 3:48 PM (Sports Network) - The Utah Jazz will begin a lengthy six-game homestand tonight versus the Milwaukee Bucks from EnergySolutions Arena.

Utah has won three in a row at home and owns a 6-3 record in Salt Lake City this season. It will also host the Pacers, Mavericks, Grizzlies, Heat and Magic on the residency.

The Jazz are coming off Sunday's 109-97 road victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, as All-Star guard Deron Williams led the charge with 26 points and nine assists. C.J. Miles added 16 points, while Paul Millsap and Andrei Kirilenko had 15 apiece for Utah, which has won five straight overall and six in a row on the road. Utah trailed by as many as 10 points and 60-52 at halftime.

"They killed us offensively in the first half. We ran the floor better in the second half and slowed them down a bit," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "Our guys were playing well together, and our bench has given us a tremendous lift."

Williams leads the team with 21.9 points and 9.9 assists and is shooting 58.7 percent over the last three games, averaging 27.0 points and 10.7 assists in that stretch.

Milwaukee hopes to put the clamps on a three-game road losing streak when it begins a short road trip through Utah and Denver. It is 2-6 as the guest so far in 2010-11.

The Bucks ended a five-game losing streak with Saturday's 104-101 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats from the Bradley Center. Brandon Jennings scored 32 points and Ersan Ilyasova added 17 for Milwaukee, which got 12 points and 10 boards from Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and 16 points out of John Salmons.

"Our bench stepped up for us today," said Ilyasova.

The Bucks played without center Andrew Bogut (back) and forwards Drew Gooden (foot) and Corey Maggette (ankle) due to injury. Bogut will miss tonight's game and both Gooden and Maggette are questionable.

Utah and Milwaukee split a home-and-home series a season ago, with each team holding serve as the host. The Jazz are 10-3 in the last 13 meetings with the Bucks, who have lost eight straight and 18 of 21 games in Salt Lake City.
