Jazz easily take care of Bucks

Nov 30, 2010 - 6:08 AM Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Deron Williams and Al Jefferson both finished with 22 points as the Utah Jazz easily topped the Milwaukee Bucks, 109-88, at EnergySollutions Arena.

Jefferson added 11 rebounds and Williams dished out 10 assists for the Jazz, who have won six straight.

Andrei Kirilenko scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Earl Watson added 12 points off the bench in the win.

"We needed a spark (tonight), and we started to play more aggressive defense and it paid off," Kirilenko said. "As a team we started helping each other and when the defense goes good then the offense seems to play better. We have to show up every night and hopefully our fans will (continue) to help us."

Brandon Jennings led Milwaukee with a game-high 27 points and Chris Douglas- Roberts chipped in with 19 points for the Bucks, who have lost six of seven.

Ersan Ilyasova scored 18 and led Milwaukee with six rebounds in defeat.

Utah started the game on a 15-5 run but the Bucks slowly adjusted and sent the game into the second down only four at 30-26. Williams and Raja Bell both scored eight in the first to lead Utah.

Ilyasova added eight in the second quarter, but the Jazz used a balanced attack to take a 60-52 lead into the locker room.

A Jefferson layup at 9:11 in the third quarter put the Jazz up 66-54, but a Jennings driving layup started a 13-4 run, in which Jennings scored 11, to trim the deficit to 70-67 for Milwaukee midway through the third.

"We hung in there for a while," Bucks' head coach Scott Skiles said. "But we had that stretch to kind of start the third where we actually played some decent defense. Which was a struggle for us tonight as well and got some stops but then they just got on the glass on us."

Utah responded with two straight baskets, and after the teams traded shots down the stretch, the Jazz took a 80-73 lead into the final stanza.

Utah put the game away for good when it started the fourth quarter on an 11-0 run. Kirilenko's driving layup later on gave the Jazz a 20-point lead at 97-77.

Ronnie Price connected with Watson for an alley-oop layup in the final minute to extend the Utah lead to 109-85 -- the largest of the game -- and Douglas- Roberts' three with 31 seconds remaining accounted for the final margin.

This was the first of a six-game home stand for the Jazz...Price and Bell both finished with 10 points...The Jazz won the rebounding margin 48-26...The Jazz scored 54 of their points in the paint, while Milwaukee had 18.
