Nets cross Hudson to visit Knicks

Nov 30, 2010 - 3:48 PM (Sports Network) - The New York Knicks aim to cure their home woes tonight when they entertain the nearby Atlantic Division-rival New Jersey Nets at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks enter this matchup having won six of seven games, including five in a row as the visitor, and will try to work on their 2-5 mark at home. They are coming off Sunday's thrilling 125-116 double-overtime victory at Detroit, as Danilo Gallinari ended with 20 points and nine rebounds for New York, which has won five straight road tests for the first time since 2000-01.

Amare Stoudemire added 37 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists, Raymond Felton donated 23 points and Wilson Chandler delivered 20 points in the win. Stoudemire is averaging 27.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in the past seven games.

"I think Amare was such a factor inside that they had to collapse on him. When they did that, we found the shooter open," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni said.

New York made 15-of-38 shots from beyond the arc and Gallinari made two of New York's four three-pointers in the second overtime. In injury news for the Knicks, guard Toney Douglas (quad) is probable and center Ronny Turiaf (knee) is listed as questionable.

The Nets will try to put the brakes on a five-game road losing streak when they head to the Big Apple this evening. They recently defeated Portland at home, 98-96, on Sunday thanks to Devin Harris' key three-pointer late in the fourth quarter and 25 points.

Harris also dished out eight assists and is averaging 22.8 points in his last four games for the Nets, who won for just the second time in seven games. Anthony Morrow checked in with 16 points and Brook Lopez had 13 in a winning cause, as the Nets battled back from a 52-44 halftime deficit.

"Devin was the one who really had the chance to spark us," Nets forward Kris Humphries told NBA.com "I think the way we came back shows some growth. We've had some tough losses this year and we didn't want another one."

Nets guard Quinton Ross (calf) is doubtful for Tuesday's game.

New Jersey has won two straight after losing the last three meetings with the Knicks. The Nets are 11-4 in their last 15 visits to MSG.
