Streaking Bulls head north of the border to face Raptors
Dec 15, 2010 - 4:03 PM (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bulls will take their six-game winning streak up north tonight for a showdown with the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre. The Central Division-leading Bulls kept their winning ways intact with Monday's 92-73 victory over the Indiana Pacers in the Windy City, as Carlos Boozer led the way with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Boozer is averaging 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in eight games since missing the first month with a broken hand suffered in October.
Derrick Rose finished with 17 points, 12 assists and six rebounds, while Luol Deng chipped in 15 points and nine boards to cap a perfect three-game homestand. Rose suffered a fall on a drive to the basket late in the game and was favoring his right wrist.
"I saw my whole future flash before my eyes coming down. I thought it was going to be worse," said Rose of the scary fall. "Right now it's just sore."
Rose is listed as questionable for Wednesday and X-rays were negative on the wrist. The All-Star guard is also dealing with a bruised right elbow and a sore right hip. Chicago will try to work on its 5-6 road mark tonight.
The Raptors will begin a four-game homestand Wednesday versus the Bulls, Nets, Lakers and Pistons, and are 6-6 in Canada this season.
Toronto suffered its fifth loss in six tries with Tuesday's 97-91 loss at Charlotte. Jerryd Bayless finished with 17 points and nine assists for the Raptors, who rallied from 25 points down to beat the Pistons, 120-116, on Saturday. DeMar DeRozan scored 14 points, while Andrea Bargnani, Leandro Barbosa and Amir Johnson each netted 12 points.
The Raptors shot 40.4 percent and committed 18 turnovers in defeat.
"We can't turn the ball over," Raptors head coach Jay Triano said. "A lot of the turnovers were going to the basket, which was good, but we've got to be more careful with the basketball."
Raptors guard Jose Calderon has missed three straight games with a sore left foot and is doubtful for tonight's game.
Toronto took two of three matchups from Chicago a season ago and has won nine of the previous 12 contests in this series.
