Lakers resume road trip vs. Pacers

Dec 15, 2010 - 4:05 PM (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will resume a seven-game road trip tonight against the Indiana Pacers from Conseco Fieldhouse.

Bryant scored a game-high 24 points in last night's 103-89 victory at Washington, while Lamar Odom recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds for the two- time defending NBA champion Lakers, who have won five of their last six games overall and are 3-1 on the road swing.

Lakers center Andrew Bynum made his season debut after offseason knee surgery, finishing with seven points and five rebounds in 17:29 of action.

"It was great getting to play again," stated Bynum. "It was a big moment for me because I've been wanting to get back. Now that I am back I just want to help my teammates out and get back in the rotation. For a while I'm going to be coming off the bench until I get back in the swing of things. I'm happy to be back."

The Lakers will also make stops in Philadelphia and Toronto, and are 8-5 away from Hollywood this season. Derek Fisher had six points in the win over the Wizards and has played in 438 straight regular season games dating back to April 15, 2005, the longest consecutive games streak among all active NBA players.

Indiana dropped both tests on a recent two-game road trip and suffered a 92-73 setback at Chicago on Monday night.

T.J. Ford and Brandon Rush each netted 13 points for the Pacers, who were without leading scorer Danny Granger due to an ankle injury and lost for the fifth time in seven tries. Granger is probable for tonight's game versus LA.

"We have a deep team, but tonight we just missed some shots we normally make," said Pacers forward Mike Dunleavy, who ended with 12 points and eight boards.

In posting a season-low point total, the Pacers shot just 35.7 percent from the field and committed 15 turnovers. They have lost five in a row on the road, but have won two straight as the host and sport a 6-5 mark in Indy this season. Cleveland is slated to make a stop at Conseco Fieldhouse on Friday.

Indiana stunned the Lakers, 95-92, at Staples Center back on Nov. 28 this season, as Roy Hibbert powered his way to 24 points and 12 rebounds. The Lakers are 13-6 in the previous 19 meetings between the teams.
